Jewelry Care

JEWELRY MATERIALS

Our jewelry is made of either 14 Karat Gold Filled (14kgf) or Sterling Silver material, unless otherwise noted in the product description. 14kgf jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold that is bonded to a base of another metal, such as sterling silver or copper. It is durable, great at keeping its shine and doesn't tarnish, even when worn in the water. 14kgf is way more affordable than 100% 14k gold and is also way more durable and of higher quality than gold plated material.

The best way to clean your jewelry is using warm water, gentle soap and a soft toothbrush. If possible, store jewelry in an airtight container when not in use. Avoid contact with chemicals as much as possible; including cleaning products, hairspray, lotion, perfumes, etcetera.

Pearls and Gemstones need extra care to keep your jewelry looking beautiful. They need to be rinsed and pat dried after swimming in the ocean or pool.

GOLD FILLED JEWELRY CARE

All gold filled jewelry is water safe, but keeping it dry and avoiding moisture will extend the life of your jewelry. Dry off your jewelry with a soft cloth after exposing it to water. If possible, store it in an air tight bag when not wearing it. The best way to clean your jewelry is using warm water and a gentle soap with a toothbrush. Soft jewelry polishing cloths with also keep your jewelry shiny and clean. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Avoid contact with chemicals as much as possible. Remove jewelry when, for example, taking a shower, using hairspray, putting on lotion or swimming in a chlorinated pool.

CRYSTAL JEWELRY CARE

Crystals are natural stones and it is important to take proper care of them. Treat your crystal jewelry with care. Don't pull, slam or bang crystals on hard surfaces, they can break. Slip your stretchy bracelet on and off with gentle care by rolling it on or off gently to keep the stretching of the elastic to a minimum. Some stones may fade in the sun or change color tones with wear. Embrace that this is a part of the crystal's journey with you. Keep crystals out of water, do not bathe, swim or clean them with water. If they happen to get wet, dry them off immediately. Especially Selenite, Angelite, Fluorite, Rhodochrosite, Malachite, Lepidolite, Calcite, Aquamarine, Moonstone, Lapis and Amazonite to name a few.

Crystals can and will break if not treated properly. Follow these guidelines and give your crystal jewelry extra TLC!
